And how time flies.

It is October again.

And some old friends would snicker if they knew this is played.

Have the greatest fall.. uh.. 4Q ever.

From Aeons Ago

I was a sweet kid (seriously). Boisterous cousins werent (arent, will never be) my cup of tea.

Ultraman must have been hot then.

(we were at the then Subang International Airport visiting my brother who was an air traffic controller).

Something Old; Something Treasured

I've finished converting mum's old photos (finally!) and I'll share some gorgeous ones next time.

In the mean time, take a look at this. Found this in mum's album too. This has always been my favorite actually (and where have the years gone?) My copy dah kena conteng dengan dakwat merah! Guess who did that? (hint : she is in the photo below and it isnt me).

Spring Time in Paris / Parisienne Walkway

(The title is a bit disconnected from the post ~ maybe next time I'll tell you why.)

Come to think of it November has got to be my favorite month.

1. Russet, the color of fallen leaves, is my favorite color. It is bold while not garish.
2. November reminds me of red apples hanging on low branches
3. It is the football season after all
4. Think pumpkins and turkeys.
5. There would be chill and a nip in the air. Refreshing.
6. I was married in November after all! (uh - many, many years ago)
7. Woolen sweaters, kilts (I know, what?) and gorgeous cashmeres
8. Beautiful mountain colors
9. Tiny flakes of snow (if you are lucky)
10. Berries and wreaths
11. Longer evenings where you stay warm under a throw and watch city lights from the windows. Sigh.

More photos.

Old File, New Inputs

The good, the bad and the ugly of the 80s fashion.

Big curled / wavy hair. You can get it permed by your dresser, use the curl irons on max heat or simply crimp them (braid your hair before sleep, undo them next morning. Voila!)

A t. Preferably white.

Bomber jacket. Not just any jacket, mind you. You've got to have the bomber jacket. Or alternatively an over-sized jacket with ott shoulder pads for you. Oh, with them sleeves pulled up to the elbows of course.

Ray-ban aviators (even after sundown)

Designer jeans. Snug(!)

And you betcha they'd have sneakers on their feet.

You may laugh, cringe, gasp in horror or squeal in delight (me, I simply need to get these out of the system).

Today I have a new label called 'the eighties' (I have a feeling I have a few more posts coming under this label).

ps - I do tend to get carried away with well.. stuff (I was browsing and without realizing how or why I was ensnared by top gun videos). And enough of this inane subject!

pps - Does anyone know where I can get the movie? All links I followed have 'file has been removed' message.

It Is Fall Again

I suppose fall colors, especially in the mountains, will always make me feel melancholy in a way. Weepy sometimes. Definitely nostalgic every time.

Not surprisingly I have posts on fall almost every year, like here and here (and guess what? - I hadnt realised it until now, but they were all posted on the same date too).

Beautiful In My Mind

I came across a few blogs and photos with fall scenes on the internet that tugged and wrenched at the edges of memories of days gone by (à la a drama queen, you say..?) But seriously, arent these lovely? (Ciptaan Allah; which makes me wonder what magical things await in Jannah).

This I had gotten from Peter's Paris.

And this is from Kathi's, at a Maine farm called Cob Cottage. I love her life story on the farm and the fact that she paints beautifully.

And sounding like a broken record, let me tell you (again and again and again..) fall is my favorite season. I have a post of reminiscing the chilly fall days in Sept 2008. And (more) reminiscing fall in Nov 2008.

Wiki said autumn is associated with the feelings of melancholy (so I deduced that man, was I ever so melancholy in 2008.. I think this is a cue for Delinn to go ha-ha..)

I also have a post on the colors of fall in Oct 2009 (I suppose I wasnt that melancholy last year).
And I am not feeling melancholy this year although come to think of it, this is a post on fall (I have a feeling that maybe I should append a 'yet' here). Have a beautiful Oct/Nov, my dears, wherever you maybe.

Colors Of The Season

Simply love these colors of fall. Picked it up from here.

Siti, if you are reading these - you owe us some fall photos. Btw, are your costumes ready for the big night-fright this coming weekend? Photos of that too, ok?

Memory Lane

I never did want to do this - to attend the hitea to celebrate my school's 120 years anniversary. But after being bombarded by calls and emails from the organizing committee, I relented (like I have a choice?). But thinking this is also a drive for the school charity, I softened further and thought why not?

Disregard the table no 23 - we are the class of 1980. That is like 30 years ago. And that is how long since I've seem most of these long ago friends. Actually they have called me numerous times for tea, makan-makan, karaoke - you name it, but the recluse that I am, I have always declined.

That's the school badge. I almost didnt remember what it looked like. But boy was my memory refreshed. We sang the school song too. Those good(est) old days!

This is a few of the girls with our fave teacher. She was cool (even at the time when the word cool refers only to the weather or water that you drink).

I deliberately put this here too. Just to proof that we had fun. This is a couple of the girls dancing on the floor. The stage was full and we didnt feel like getting cramped up there. So we let our hair down and dance away. We laughed like school girls again and talked till we are all hoarse. Boy was it great to feel like 17 again.

I'm actually glad that I forced myself to go. We are arranging for a smaller group meet up again soon. I had sure had a lot of fun. 17 was a good age.

Did Something Happen?

I remember a teacher I used to have. We met once a week for class. And whenever we meet he would ask, Did anything significant happen to you last week?

Typical local culture that's prevalent is nobody would contribute any ideas or say anything in class, right? Exactly what happened in this class also. We dont know if really nothing interesting happened or just that nobody wants to say anything.

But the teacher cautioned, hey a whole week of life passed you by you know. Something significant must have occurred. Or are you really telling me the whole week was an empty seven days with no impact from life?

When the question was posted that way it makes me think about my own week ie my life in a week..

These days when a week passed I asked myself the question, did something happen? Were there lessons learnt from anything? Did I improve? Did I do something good? Did something significant really happen ~ or have I wasted seven days of life?
