"Untitled"

It is simply frustrating when the wireless connection goes intermittent for unknown reasons; but mungkin pelajaran bersabar ditakdirkan perlu oleh Allah..

Surah Al-Haj; ayat 45 & 46

Best Nye Cuti

So the long weekend came and gone and I am already eagerly waiting for this upcoming equally long weekend - I am taking tomorrow off - going for the physio again.

We didnt go anywhere the cny break. Not that we didnt want to, but the planning came a bit too late and most places are already full by then. Nevertheless time spent at home wasnt any less enjoyable.

I spent the entire break doing nothing. LOL. After the end of the holidays I felt fresh and ready to tackle whatever-may-be again. The boys came back on Fri. But I already started stocking up supplies aka FOOD since Thur. My husband had raised his eyebrows at how full the trolley was then - he had forgotten the boys will be home. On Sat we went out to get more stuff at the pasar tani. The poor fridge was bursting at its seams. Ah well, it is the cny! LOL..

On Sun we had bbq dinner. I wanted to have it on the porch. My husband said the smoke will get to the neighbors' houses. Shy la... jiran bau je tapi tak bagi pun. So we had the bbq on the balcony. With marinated chicken and lamb. It drizzled while we were bbq-ing (of all the hot days, it had to drizzle then..) But it soon stopped. It was rather fun.

We went to the cinemas on Mon. Bedtime Stories. My sons said what?! like they are freaking out or something when I told them the title of the movie we are watching. They thought it is going to be like a sweet and girlish movie. I like the short song snippets they have in the movie, but especially so 'Dont Stop Believing' performed by Journey. It is my fave and it sort of make me want to jiggle about a bit. Although thankfully I didnt.

I spent Tue window shopping with Iman at KLCC. I adore that place - not because of its shops or whatever - but because it is so close to home and on a quiet long weekend it takes maybe like 10 minutes to get there and straight into the paking lots. Luckily we were early and therefore avoided the mass at noon as we were leaving (it was full with 'expatriates' - if you know what I mean - then. They were snapping photos everywhere.. macam awak-awak le kalau pergi Australia ke, Phuket ke, US ke..)

And of course without saying, they was a lot of cooking done to feed the ever hungry brood. I did some gardening and sewing too in between everything else. Oh, and lots of reading of M&B books (I have a sheepish smile here..) After finishing the third book during the weekend, I threw the stuff onto the coffee table and thought, ok - that's enough of that and time for more productive things..

What fun life can be!

Not So A Silent Night

I woke up to unfamiliar sounds in the house the other night. And then all quiet. And as I was about to close my eyes again, the sound came back.

I listened. It was the sound of water gushing and then a door slammed closed. Oh, I had forgotten - the boys are back for the semester break. And being nocturnal that they are, nights are filled with familiar daytime noises. They'd sing, joked and laughed. Sometimes muffled music would vibrate up to my room.

I wonder if any of the neighbors hear them. Or if their nighttime noises would disturb the neighbors. And being worried that one day any of my nearest neighbors would come complaining at my door..

Mind Over Matter

And things cant be worse than it is this morning. I left home very early (I dont know about you, but ten before 7 is very early to me) but by the time I get to the office the parking's full. I notice that it takes longer and longer to get to the office these days (this year?)

I should seriously think about moving closer to home (not moving closer to the office, mind you..) or work at home or not at all (and yeah, this is where you would say something like uh-oh, here she goes again).

But never fear, anything is possible when the heart is willing. And this morning this heart is willing to be happy, bright and to be industrious (wait, let me cross my fingers first! .. ok, done that).

And those words I have there (its design too in fact) was copied from a magnet I got in MPH the other day. I find it rather rousing in a way.

Books, Books And More Books Part 11

And I took the longest time ever to finish this. I decided to finish other books before I finally picked it up again. It was that kind of book.

It is a best seller though. Although the book couldnt hold my attention long enough for me to speed read it. It is about a girl who spent an unplanned weekend in Paris.

It would be a long time before I pick up another book by this author, I suppose..

The Therapy

Lately, seeing the therapist has become a major agenda in life. The orthopedics has recommended a twice / three times weekly visit to the physio center.

I must say that I have not noticed much difference that the visit has made although I have taken the time to visit Kim, my therapist, at the center. Kim would apply the ultra sound to my lower back and shoulder blades. That takes about 20 minutes. The she'd do electromagnetic treatment (I hope I got that right) for another 20 minutes (I'd fall asleep for a bit then). Then I am free to go.

And then on my next visit she'd feel the areas I complained about on my back and would declare that, wah, your muscles are still 'bunchy' and tight (kalau mak bidan I'd suspect they'd say urat simpul). I wondered aloud to Kim if mengurut would help any because it seem like that's what she's doing - trying to ease out the muscles (kalau ada arwah Tok Kelantan back home I'd get there and ask her to do some magic. I wouldnt trust just anybody when the soulders and back feel like this.)

Kim recommended relaxing messages, if at all - I am thinking that would be my cost whilst if I go to see Kim it would be covered by the GL. LOL. Disgusting too - when even at times like this I should consider that.

Let's hope I dont need to keep this up for very long - although Kim did say 2 - 3 months. Help.

Blue, My Color

It is late afternoon Sunday. It's raining outside. It is dark and wet. Astro's down.

I went through the last few days reading and beading. I am tired of being creative. Of digesting more story lines. Although I have Zana's A Million Splendid Stars (by Khaled Hosseini) and she and everyone else said it is even better than his first book, I am so not into reading at this moment in time.

There is something about Sundays and tomorrow being Monday and a work day and a rainy afternoon that just make things seem so blue - that makes Carly Simon sounds so good with You Are So Vain and The Spy Who Loves Me. And Sheena Easton so graceful with for Your eyes Only. And Cliff Richard and Suddenly so sad. And Andy Williams and Moon River so poignant.

And then there was Jay Leno who had said last night, where did the years go?

Doodle-dee

And help me please, I still dont have the mood to write about .. well, any stuff, here. Life is just passing me by.

The boys are all back in college again. Eirfan is busy with school - dia dah tahun 6. Exam year.

Life is not bad. But I think there could be a storm coming. After the calm. There usually is. Let's just wait and see..

(pix is of two sisters - somehow this is a favorite photo at this time)

Books, Books And More Books Part 10

And I finished this yesteday. It is a good suspense / thriller according to the reviews (there is even a flattering one by Steven Spielberg).

Unfortunately nawaitu membaca buku adalah untuk menghabiskan buku tu. So in the end I didnt really enjoy reading it. It could be a good book - correction : it is a good book according to the reviews - but I enjoyed her other books more.

Maybe I am not so much into reading right now.

On The First Day Of 2009

I didnt start my resolution; despite being so gung-ho about it (lol). Isnt that a sure sign I'd be doom where they are concerned..?

Nevertheless we did catch the fireworks on 1.1.09 eve. As in past years ever since Iman started working, we would pick her up from her office in Bukit Bintang a little bit before midnite. We'll leave home at 11, make our way slowly to city center and watch traffic police on standby for road closures. But on Wed when we get to the city, traffic was at a crawl and roads were already closed - even Jln Bukit Bintang! We definitely cannot not go to Bukit Bintang to pick Iman up. We stopped at the closed junction and I insisted to the policeman that I simply had to get to BB. We were let through - what relief.

On the way home we stopped along Stonor (was it Stonor..?) and watched fireworks at KLCC. The show was quite spectacular but was over too soon. It was a crawl too going home.

I shopped with Iman later in the morning and read all day. It was a good day, spent leisurely. I wondered if days could be as idyllic as this all through the new year.
